Opportunities for Service

 

FELLOWSHIP OF ST MARIA OF PARIS

Inspired by the life and witness of St Maria of Paris, this group gathers periodically to explore and celebrate the connections between Orthodox spirituality, radical hospitality, and Christian service. Members share struggles and encourage one another in living out their commitments in their daily lives.

SANDWICH SUNDAY

One Sunday each month after Divine Liturgy parishioners gather in the Spiritual Life Center to make sandwiches for the folks at First Step Transition Day Shelter in Kenosha.

CHURCH MAINTENANCE MINISTRY

Are responsible for overseeing the physical well being of the Church building and property: To see to such repairs as may become necessary and to apprise the Parish Council of the need of any major expenditures which they believe to be necessary. Are in charge of the work of any employees or contractors hired to work on building or grounds and evaluates the work of work crews and/or volunteers. Supervises judicious use of utilities (heating, cooling, electric, phone), pest control, landscaping, housekeeping, and compliance with ADA, safety and fire regulations.

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION MINISTRY

Responsible for the organization of the Religious Education Program K through High School, setting up class and grade configuration, coordinating teachers and substitutes, ordering all necessary materials, and scheduling regular teacher and parent meetings.


CHOIR/MUSIC MINISTRY


Leading the community of faith in divine worship, the choir is responsible for beautifying the Sunday and Festal Divine Liturgies through prayerful, well-prepared, and well-executed choral music and congregational singing according to the prescribed texts and rubrics of the OCA. Also, involves chanting for the regular cycle of weekly services, as well as for special services as pastoral necessity dictates.


BROTHERHOOD AND SISTERHOOD


Our parish grew out of a mutual aid society and these groups gather periodically to focus their efforts on the material and philanthropic needs of our community and the funding of improvements to our physical plant.
