Our pastor is available to meet with parishioners and interested individuals from the local community who would like to more seriously explore their spiritual lives and understand and appreciate the movements of Divine Grace within them. If you are interested in learning more about the Orthodox faith, feel free to contact Father at home at 262-654-4605, via cellphone at 414-899-3729 or email shrycyniak@wi.rr.com.
It is incumbent upon all good pastors to know their flock well and so Father is very interested in meeting in the homes of each family at least once a year to bless their home, and to perhaps share a meal together. In so doing, we grow in relationship. So, too, are parishioners strongly encouraged to socialize together to build strong bonds of spiritual friendship that serve as a basic building block of a strong faith community.
If you are undergoing a difficult time and experiencing significant stress in any area of your life--spiritual, mental, emotional, physical, or financial--you are encouraged to talk to your pastor about the situation. He is trained to provide short-term, supportive pastoral counseling. If the problem is beyond the scope of his expertise to be genuinely helpful, he may suggest a referral to a pastoral counselor or another helping professional in the community.
All Orthodox Christians, especially those receiving Holy Communion regularly, should come for Holy Confession minimally at least once during each of the fast seasons (Great Lent, Fast of Saints Peter and Paul, the Dormition Fast, and the Pre-Nativity/St. Philip's Fast) throughout the year. Should you need help learning how to properly gain the maximum spiritual benefit from this soul-cleansing Sacrament, Fr. Stephen can suggest printed resources to help you in examining your conscience in preparation for Confession or would be happy to discuss the matter with you in person.
Also, if you are suddenly hospitalized or homebound and desire a pastoral visit, please do not hesitate to contact your pastor. Priests also gladly make house-calls anytime throughout the year, so never hesitate to request a visit.
