Spiritual direction is a confidential process in which you and a director meet together (usually monthly) to focus on your spiritual journey and to reflect on how God is present and active in the many facets of your daily life. For Orthodox Christians, it may also include confession. Given the focus on God and upon your spiritual life, it is different from counseling, which tends to focus more upon your relationship with yourself and others. Spiritual direction and pastoral counseling often overlap and there are excellent referral resources available should the need for counseling arise. Private directed retreats are also available at the Spiritual Life Center or with accommodations at one of the local monasteries.
There are no set fees for spiritual direction, but free-will donations to support the ongoing work of The Spiritual Life Center are gladly accepted. Suggested donations for spiritual direction are in the range of $30-$50 per hour. No one will ever be turned away for an inability to make an offering. All backgrounds welcome!
